Forko terms of use
Version 1.1 — 4 September 2026
Forko is an app for planning your meals, operated by Lucas Céspedes, a private individual, with an address at Barcelona (España). By creating an account or using the app you accept these terms; if you don't agree with them, don't use Forko. Forko is for people aged 14 and over: by using it you declare that you are at least that age.
Forko is not medical advice
The recipes, plans, calories and macros you see in Forko are guidance only, not professional medical or nutritional advice. The calories and macros of the catalogue recipes are for information only and are not calculated from any data about you; those of your own recipes are estimated by an artificial intelligence model and may be wrong. Consult a healthcare professional about any health condition, pregnancy, severe allergy or ongoing treatment.
Allergies: always read the ingredients
Forko's filters rely on the information in the catalogue and on what other users write in their recipes. A recipe published by someone else does NOT carry verified allergen information. If you have a severe allergy, always read the ingredients: the responsibility for what you eat is yours, and Forko cannot take it on.
Your account
You can create your account with an email and password, or sign in with Apple or Google. You are responsible for keeping your password, or access to your Apple or Google account, secure, and for whatever happens with your Forko account. You can sign out, change your password, change your email (confirmed with a code sent to the new address), download your data or delete your account whenever you like from this menu. We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms, as explained in detail in the community rules.
Community rules: zero tolerance
This section is Forko's end user licence agreement (EULA) as regards the content that users publish; accepting it is a condition for publishing anything. Forko has content created by its users (photos of dishes, titles, comments and recipes), and does not tolerate offensive content or abusive users. Zero tolerance means exactly that: no prior warnings, no agreed second chances and no exceptions.
What you can't post
Explicit sexual or pornographic content, or nudity. Violence, self-harm, suicide or eating disorders, whether showing, promoting or glorifying them. Insults, harassment, threats, intimidation or campaigns against a person. Hate speech or discrimination on grounds of origin, race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability or age. Illegal content, or content that promotes illegal activities or drug use. Content that endangers the health of anyone who follows it: extreme diets, dangerous fasting, “recipes” that aren't food or medical advice dressed up as a recipe. Other people's personal data, or images of anyone without their permission, especially of minors. Advertising, spam, scams, links to malicious sites or selling anything. Content you don't have the rights to: photos, text or recipes copied from somewhere else. Impersonating another person, brand or organisation.
What we do
We automatically review every recipe before publishing it in the community recipe book: if it doesn't pass the review, it isn't published and we tell you why, so that you can fix it. We automatically review every dish you post in the feed, photo and text, right after you post it: if it doesn't pass the review, it is removed and you see the reason. You can report any post, comment or account from within the app, with the “⋯” menu. We commit to reviewing every report and acting within 24 hours at most, removing the content that breaks these rules and banning the account responsible. And you can block any user: you stop seeing their content and they stop seeing yours.
What happens if you break them
We will remove the content and may close your account permanently and without prior warning, depending on how serious it is. In serious cases we will also report it to the authorities. If you think we have got it wrong with you, write to us.
The content you publish is still yours
Your photos, your recipes and your text are yours. By publishing them in Forko you give us permission to host them and show them within the app to whoever should see them according to your privacy settings, and for nothing else: we don't sell them, we don't hand them over and we don't use them in advertising. That permission ends when you delete your account. Bear one specific thing in mind, explained in detail in the privacy policy: photos are served from a public link, so anyone with the direct link to an image can see it even if your profile is private, and deleting a post doesn't delete its photo from storage. That happens when you delete the account.
Forko's content
The recipe catalogue, the text, the design and the Forko character are ours. You can use them within the app for what the app is for; you can't copy, resell or redistribute them. The prices you see in the shopping list are indicative estimates taken from public prices at Mercadona, checked by hand and stored with the date of that check, which the app shows next to each receipt. The price in your shop may vary. Forko is an independent meal-planning service. It is not sponsored by, linked to or commercially affiliated with Mercadona, S.A. References to “Mercadona” or to registered trademarks such as “Hacendado” are made solely in a nominative and informative way, so that you know where each price comes from and which specific product was used to calculate it.
Price
Forko is free. Today there are no subscriptions, no in-app purchases and no payment details of any kind. If there were ever paid features, we would let you know in the app and update these terms before charging anything.
Availability and changes
Forko is provided “as is”. We do our best to keep it working at all times, but we can't guarantee that there will be no outages, errors or data loss. We may change, suspend or withdraw features; if the change is significant, we will let you know in the app. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect damages arising from the use of Forko. None of this limits the rights that consumer law gives you as a user.
Governing law and privacy
These terms are governed by Spanish law. If you are a consumer, you may go to the courts where you live. How we handle your data is in “Privacy and data”, in this same menu: that policy forms part of these terms.
